This cavern was established as a national monument in the early 1900s, but around the middle of the century it was demoted from national monument status and transferred to the state of Montana as its first state park. One of the most decorated limestone caves in the Northwest, according to stateparks.mt.gov, the cave is lined with stalactites, stalagmites, columns, and helictites.
