Kentucky (KY) camping offers a diverse range of environments from the open lands of the Bluegrass Region to the cool forests of the Appalachian Mountains--America's heartland has it all.

Western Kentucky, the lake region, gives campers a unique experience to enjoy Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley along with 4 major rivers. Beach and lakefront camping offer outdoor activities like swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and fishing. Central Kentucky provides open plains within the Bluegrass Region, and in south central Kentucky campers can experience cave country. Camp in Mammoth Cave National Park and then explore the world's longest cave system.

Eastern Kentucky brings campers into the highlands where the Appalachian Mountains take over. Daniel Boone National Forest provides access to the Cumberland Plateau, and campers can enjoy a secluded evening under the vast tree canopy. Campgrounds offer everything from family-friendly RV camping to basic tent sites. Backpackers will find plenty of remote, backcountry campsites as well.
