From the Jersey shore in the east to the Appalachian Mountains in the north, New Jersey (NJ) camping has plenty to offer.
North Jersey offers campers a more rural wooded, and mountainous landscape to enjoy. Closer to New York City, campers can camp near the Palisades, a line of steep cliffs along the Hudson River. Head north and outdoor lovers can camp under High Point, the highest point in New Jersey. In the west, campers can explore the Appalachian Trail, which runs through the Delaware Water Gap.
South Jersey offers forested campsites as well in the Pine Barrens. Here campers can make a campfire under the heavily forested coastal plain. For a true beach experience, check out campsites along the Jersey shore and enjoy the scenic views of the Atlantic coastline. And don't forget campsites near cities like Trenton, Atlantic City, and Hoboken.
