Texas (TX) camping provides a wide range of camping opportunities all across the state, from the sandy beaches along the Gulf Coast to the Great Plains and desert valleys.

East Texas camping features beautiful forest camping in the Davy Crockett National Forest and the Sabine National Forest. Camp under a thick tree canopy of hardwood and old growth forests, or enjoy some lake camping along one of Texas' many scenic reservoirs. Coastal camping is also popular along the Gulf of Mexico, where campers can find pristine beach campsites. Set up a campfire near the coastline and enjoy the stunning views of the Gulf Coast.

Central Texas offers prairie camping under the wide open sky. Plenty of campgrounds, both private and within parks, offer RV and camper sites as well as basic tent sites, along with amenities like swimming pools, children's playgrounds, and running water. West Texas has scenic campsites in desert valleys as well as secluded campgrounds along the wooded mountain slopes. The Rio Grande provides some riverside camping near the border of Mexico. You can even find campgrounds near cities like Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas as well!
