Kentucky (KY) hiking offers diverse experiences all across the state, with the lake region in the west, the Bluegrass Region in the middle, and the highlands in the east--America's heartland has it all.

Hikers can explore plenty of different lake and river front trails in the lake region of West Kentucky. Kentucky Lake, Lake Barkley, and 4 other rivers come together to make this a scenic place for a hike. Find meandering paths that wind through the Bluegrass Region in Central Kentucky, and head south for trails through Mammoth Cave National Park. Mammoth holds the world's largest cave system which hikers and outdoor recreationists can explore, or stick to the forests and tree cover if caves seem like too much.

Eastern Kentucky brings hikers into the Appalachian Mountains where forested trails can go on forever. Daniel Boone National Forest gives hikers access to trails leading to the Cumberland Plateau. Creeks, streams, and waterfalls can all be discovered within this wilderness and always leave hikers with a fresh sense of awe. Don't forget to check out some urban trails in cities like Louisville and Lexington.
