Lake View Lodge Mountain Bicycle & Hiking Trail Broken Bow/Hochatown, OK
Oklahoma (OK) features a diverse range of climates and terrains for hikers to experience. From the mountains to the prairies, there's enough trail for every hiker to enjoy.
Eastern Oklahoma offers hikers many exciting trails through the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains and forests within the Interior Highlands. Climb strenuous trails to summit mountains and view the scenic wilderness, or take easy paths that meander through thick forests in Oklahoma's many parks. Ouachita National Forest provides access to the Ouachita Mountains where hikers can find trails that wind through miles of old-growth forest.
Central Oklahoma has plenty to offer as well with trails running through pristine plains and prairies. Hikers can also enjoy hiking small, but steep mountain ranges or simply walking through the woodlands under the shade of the tree canopy. Northwestern Oklahoma changes things up with semi-arid high plains that hikers can explore. Much of the area is either rolling or flat, perfect for families with small children, but there are also some canyon and mesa ranges like the Glass Mountains. Here hikers can explore trails that dive deep into canyons, and then follow steep passages to climb mesas that provide stunning views. Hikers can find trails near cities like Oklahoma City and Tulsa as well!
