Campground Description

Featuring a total of four small lakes ranging in size from 670 to 4200 surface acres and scenic floatways, the Bear Creek watershed area offers excellent recreation opportunities. These resources are located in northwestern Alabama near the communities of Russellville, Phil Campbell, and Haleyville and are also easily accessible from the Sheffield, Muscle Shoals, and Tuscumbia areas. Smallmouth and largemouth bass are among the sport fish inhabiting these lakes.

The campground is good if you have an RV / Camper but it really is not a good place to use tents. The Bear creek is a good place to fish for Catfish & Crapie. It is a C- for Brim/pearch, C for Bass, and no known stripe bass has been caught. There is a beach / swim area close to the campground with a small store only open during summer months. This place is approx 15 miles from a small town of 2,500 people in Red Bay, AL. There are a few other communities in the area and three gas station / stores within 5 miles.
