Campground Description

This secluded concessionaire-operated forest camp offers easy access to two features of high visitor interest. The first is Knoll Lake, a medium-sized body of water tucked away in a picturesque setting. People come here to fish for trout and tour the lake in small boats. The second feature of interest near this campground is the spectacular Mogollon Rim, a two thousand foot escarpment that marks the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau. This picturesque plunge from cool highlands to low deserts extends across most of Arizona. The area around Knoll Lake, however, is the home of some of the Rim's most magnificent views. It provides a scenic setting for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding or just sitting back and enjoying the panorama.

Was one of the best campgrounds. Now terrible. 1st year of allowing atv's in the campground. Just like camping inside an atv racetrack. Noisy, dirty, etc. Trash containers were overflowing. No toilet paper in the vault toilets & no camp hosts. 3 nights and 4 days at the campground, we won't be back! ATV's in the campground! Coconino Forest Management, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?

Kid friendly. Safe. Clean restrooms. Private if you're willing to be further away from the entrance. The kids loved to bank and boat fish. Crawdads were fun to catch too for them. We had a blast and loved this campground.

Small and charming campground alongside tiny Knoll Lake, up in the cool Mogollon Rim forest. Good for fish-camping, no motor boats allowed. Forest setting, water provided, as well as tables, firepits and BBQ's, etc.
