I have camped here slot over the years....I think it is the best place to stay.....close to the trailhead to the backcountry and also close to Curry Village....If you dont't want to cook you are only a few minutes from a hot coffee or slice of pizza, ice cream or a cold margarita or pitcher of beer.....A wonderful place.....Try to get a campsite on a outside loop as the inside campsites tend to be more crowded....You must keep your food put away when not cooking as there are bears in the campground EVERY night.....If you put your food away properly you will not have a problem....We have been camping there for over 20 years and we always see at least 1 bear during our visit....

All the campers seem to be very friendly actually just about everyone at Yosemites seems to be in a good mood and enjoying themselves. Alot of space on the campgrounds you are surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers very nice!!!!!!!!!

Pretty much any campground in Yosemite Valley is going to be awesome, this one is no exception. There is plenty of shade from the pine trees. It has flush toilets; water is also available at the bathroom buildings. It is within walking distance of the Happy Isle trail head, which is the starting point for some awesome hikes. The kids loved tubing down the river that is nearby.
