Campground Description

This is a rustic hike-in campground that requires you to carry all of your gear in across a bridge over a creek to access the camping area. There are no designated campsites, but there are already a number of fire scars spread throughout the area. Pick one, pitch your tent, and enjoy!

There is a pit toilet on the parking lot side of the stream along with a number of bear proof trashcans. Due to the two streams converging near the campground, in addition to crossing a bridge from the parking lot to the camping, you must ford a creek with your vehicle to access the parking lot. I've seen a number of cars in the lot, but depending on the water level it would not be advisable to try driving through it with a low vehicle.

Have been camping at Bear Creek for about 30 years. My favorite place. So serene. You must carry all your camp equipment across a bridge to the campsite. So if you don't have someone young to help then this is not the place for you. Since I am older, it is very hard to do, but very worth the work. Their is a place to swim up behind the campsites. Good cold clean water. I love hearing the water come off the mountain at night. Sleep like a baby. Before my husband passed, he would catch some nice trout out of this creek. A few trophy. We cooked trout one night for the boy scouts along with all the fixings. I love this place.

This is pretty much a free-for-all hike-in tent camping area. Unfortunately, it stays quite busy, despite how rustic it is and how few facilities are available. However, the awesome access to the Bear Creek trail is a huge perk!

This is a great little campground to enjoy a weekend. I used to go there trout fishing in the streams around it. My recommendation is very high for this one
