The Coralville Lake Project is comprised of five campgrounds and offers lake and river fishing, camping, boating, swimming and water-skiing. Several public golf courses are just a short drive from the Project. The environment is wooded. Coralville Lake is located very close to Iowa City/Coralville, which boasts the largest mall in Iowa.
Visitors enjoy Coralville Lake for boating, fishing, swimming and waterskiing. Anglers will find large and smallmouth bass, crappie, walleye, catfish. Hiking and mountain biking are popular activities in Sugar Bottom. Cedar Valley Nature Trail wanders through timber, into ravines along the lake and across several bridges. Wildlife is abundant and wildflowers are a popular attraction. Indian Cave Trail leads to a cave where Native Americans lived more than 10,000 years ago. Sugar Bottom Disc Golf Course is located near the campground, offering 18 partially wooded and open holes.
