We are spring and fall tent campers. Did not have a view of Lake Red Rock but basically had the place to ourselves when we camp their in the first week in May. We were able to hike down to the water and the rocks were red. A lot of day mushroom hunters were out and about. The town of Pella is worth a visit. The dutch letters (an almond filled pastry in the shape of the letter "S") was well worth the trip into town and the tulips were in full bloom (which this small dutch heritige town is known for). Just explore..We had a good stay. Tent camping sites didn't seem to offer a lot of privacy if it would have been peak season. With that said, no other compaints. Always, (Pure Iowa tent campers!)
