Campground Description

Oxbow Park is located on the east side of the Hardy Dam backwaters. Hardy Dam is the third largest earthen filled dam in the world. There are 17 miles of waterway from Hardy Dam to Rogers Dam for recreational waterskiing, swimming, fishing or boating. This is a great area for camping, hiking and a brilliant view of the fall colors with the blue waters and the white sandy beaches. It's simply a breathtaking sight for the whole family to enjoy.

This is a private campground (which I'm not used to stay at) but I really liked it. They have showers, which is a plus, and the lake is really pretty. We stayed in a primitive tent site away from all the RVs and it was nice and quiet. The host was very welcoming, too.

This campground has plenty of amenities and there are a lot of things to do there and nearby. The people who run the park are nice and will go out of their way to help out. If you can, get a site with a view of the water. Beware: I got some really bad gasoline from the store just outside the park.
