Camped here by tent, prior to heading into the BWCAW for a weekend. The park is very modern yet the setting is wooded and natural feeling. Roads and trails around the park are in very good condition. Restrooms and showers feature flush toilets and hot and cold running water. Everything is clean, quiet, and well-maintained. Not much in the way of TV reception, wi-fi, or cell phone signal, but this is on the edge of the boundary waters, after all. (And that's one reason the campground is quiet.) I recommend this site especially to someone who isn't enthusiastic about rough camping with primitive facilities. It's a nice place to get away while still having some modern amenities, and not too far from Ely (about 6 miles) if you need to grab a few groceries. Oh, and you need plenty of bug spray nearly the full camping season or you will be unhappy.
