Section P of the Pacific Crest Trail runs 99.8 miles from I-5 near Castle Crags State Park to Somes Bar-Etna Road at Etna Summit. This section is an eastern part of the Klamath Mountains and passes by a number of lakes.

Along the way the trail passes Dunsmuir, CA; Winter Canyon Creek; Sulphur Creek; Road 40N30; Road 40N45; Deadfall Lakes; Parks Creek Road 42N17; Chilcoot Creek; Highway 3 at Scott Mountain Summit; Trinity Alps Wilderness; Road 40N63; Road 40N63; Mosquito Lake Creek; South Fork Scott River; Forest Highway 93 at Carter Meadows Summit; and Paynes Lake Creek.
