Red Rock Canyon features about 11 miles of trails through its Open Space. The park is open from dawn until dusk, and can get a little crowded at times. There are dog-friendly hiking trails where owners can take their dogs off the leash.
These trails wind through the scenic canyon and hikers can enjoy stunning rock formations and possibly some wildlife viewing as well!
Trail length: 11 miles

There's more than you expect. A maze of trails that link up with other parks in town, Red Rock Canyon is a beautiful hiking area. Lots of exposed areas. There are a lot of rock climbing areas, but be prepared to wait in line if you don't get there super early. There is a dog off leash area as well as a really neat old rock quarry. Mountain biking is popular here with a nice terrain park near the entrance. If you hike far enough back, you'll reach some nice tree areas. Know where you're going; it's a maze and some sections are difficult hiking!

Great family hiking! The trails take you through oak and right among the rocks. We had biked there previously, but there are plenty of hikers-only trails to see. Even on a Saturday afternoon, it was not crowded in any way. We only did just over a mile, so there will be plenty more for us to check out another day.
