This river trail is quintessentially Florida. There are animals everywhere. I literally walked into a deer on the trail. I don't know who was more surprised that it happened. The river looks like tea because of all the tannins leaching from the swamps.

This is a very nice trail that follows the Econlockhatchee river near the east coast of Florida. The trial provided excellent views of the river. It was mostly raised above the river but in some spots you could walk down to it. There were lots of nice bridges to cross and some small ups and downs along the way.

I hiked this trail on Thursday March 15, 2012. I ran into some ladies on horse and they told me that the trails I am walking are normally completley under water and that the next couple of months these trails will be submerged. I highly recommend taking a hike out here NOW. The beach like hiking was a very unique experince as you will note from my photos posted. I saw Alligators, turtles, A Coral Snake, Butterflies, squirrels and horses.
