This 8.5 mile section of the BMT lies almost completely inside the boundary of the Cohutta Wilderness. Combined with section 11 in Tennessee, this area offers 15.7 miles of pure singletrack hiking without crossing a single road. If you are looking for a true wilderness experience in the Southeast, this is it!
The northernmost end of this section is on the GA/TN line. If hiking south to north, pick up the trail descriptions in Tennessee.
This section is rated "more difficult."
Note: the Google Map location given is for the BMT intersection with Jones Cemetery Road.
Trail length: 9 miles
