The Flint River Trail in Albany, Ga, is in two parts. There is the handicap-accessible portion which is paved and runs 2.5 miles north from the Veteran's Memorial. It can be used by hikers, bike riders or persons with disabilities and has plenty of benches where you can rest for a bit. During my visit several areas where improvements are underway was closed off. The more rusting portion of the trail is at the south end of the trail across from the municipal auditorium on Front Street. You will have to look for the signs. The folks who maintain this trail could use a lot of help in cleaning up the trash I found during my hike. It is amazing how many folks have used this area as a dumping ground. Recent flooding hasn't helped a lot. It's not a bad hike, marked fairly well, and is a way to get away from the house for a few hours. Was this helpful?
