Great trail. Has a variety of high points... this trail is blazed white and has many places to sit and relax . Bring a picnic lunch and bathing suit stop at one of the beaches.
This trail has a nice balance. I saw two deer, squirrel's, crawfish, fish in the lake, nice views, nice breezes. I will be going back there soon.

You access this trail from Outer Banks Park then cross the road from the parking lot where you will see the signs. This was my third and longest hike of the day. It traveled along the opposite side of the river as North Bowmans Island Trail. The trail hugged tight along the river and required climbing in and out of ravines.
