This is a beautiful hiking trail along the shores of Carter's Lake. The loop is a very easy, scenic hike that is 3.5 miles long.

One of the best hikes in North Georgia. Easy to moderate hike difficulty the entire way. Great views of the lake and nearby creeks. Private and secluded. Not a challenging hike at all, but enough elevation changes to make you satisfied when you complete the 3.7 mile loop. Highly recommended.

Saturday February 11, 2012 I ventured to this beautiful Lake. It was 21 degrees and extremely windy. I saw mountain bikers pull away because of the wind chill. I bundled up and walked the 3.7 mile loop around the lake. Carters Lake horeline is owned by the Army Corps of Engineers therefore nio allowing any private docks or houses it is wilderness hiking.
