On Sunday December 8, 2013 I had the pure pleasure of spending the night at Cumberland Falls State Resort for $56 and then spending the day hiking the falls in the park area. There was a lot of rains over the weekend and a lot of Kentucky was experiencing flooding this certainly made for an exciting trip to the Falls themselves. I will never get tired of this State Park there is so much beauty and wildlife that you will never be bored. The hiking is a bit challenging especially when it has rained. The mud is slick and around the falls is slippery.

I visited on March 26th and 27th. It snowed the whole way up to Cumberland Falls/Dupont Lodge. There was no one visiting in this harsh weather excet Reese and I. It was a stunning waterfall. I have visited Niagara Falls in Canada and this was equally impressive. The visitot center and gift shop had a lot to offer during you visit. There is no fee for this it is free and the park is open until Midnight due to the Moonbow seekers.
