Description

At the Chief Joseph Trailhead, the CDT leaves the Idaho/Montana border and heads north through the Montana mountains. Note: the trailhead is technically just over the border in Idaho.



Section 1 of the CDT in Montana runs for 18.2 miles from the Chief Joseph Trailhead and Hwy 43 to Schultz Saddle and NF-1203. Along the way, the trail passes the Lost Trail Ski Area.
