Description

The Continental Divide Trail has two different endings, and this is the alternate section 19 leading to an alternate ending at the Chief Mountain Trailhead on MT Hwy 17, which is just south of the Canadian border. Note: GPS location given is for the Chief Mountain Trailhead. For the Swiftcurrent Lake GPS location, click over to the regular Section 19.

Alt Section 19 of the CDT in Montana runs for 27.4 miles from Swiftcurrent Lake and Many Glacier Road to the Chief Mountain Trailhead. Along the way, the trail passes through Glacier National Park and passes by Altyn Peak, Apikuni Mountain, Lake Sherborne, Swiftcurrent Ridge, Poia Lake, Crowfeet Mountain, Ptarmigan Wall, Seward Mountain, Red Gap Pass, Lake Elizabeth, Natoas Peak, Cosley Ridge, Gable Mountain, Yellow Mountain West, Yellow Mountain East, Belly River Valley, Bear Mountain, Belly River Trail, Sentinel Mountain, and Belly River.
