Finally, the CDT is back on a real trail. Section 19 of the Continental Divide Trail runs for 55.2 miles from NM Hwy 117 to the Zuni-Acoma TH (NM Hwy 117). While most of this section is trail, some of it does, admittedly, follow the road at some point.
Along the way this segment passes Cerro Brilliante, Cerro Negro, Cerro Chato, the Chain-of-Craters Wilderness Study Area, Cerro Lobo, Lost Woman Crater, Cerro Rendija, Cerro Hueco, Cerro Leonides, Cerro Americano, Cerro Bandera, Bandera Crater, NM Hwy 53, Cerro Candelaria, and El Malpais National Monument.
Note: this segment crosses the time zone line.
Trail length: 55 miles
