This trail goes up the mountain & can be a little difficult at times, but when you get to the top you will see a big H in white letters--that's for helicopter landing atop the mountain.
The trail leads you up to the summit of the famous Looking Glass Rock. It's visible from many locations in the Pisgah National Forest and along the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the rock itself provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

This was a fairly tough trail for me because I have neuropathy(nerve damage) in both legs but I did make it all the way to the top. My pain was well worth the hike to see the beautiful view of the mountains and valleys from up there. I just used 2 trekking poles to help me with the leg problems. We took some sandwiches with us and had a picnic and enjoyed the view for a while before heading back down. I would highly recommend this trail to anyone who is in the area.
