This was a fun little trail, but did leave a lot to be desired. We can here to get a quick weekend hike in. Hagg Lake it's self was nice, but nothing overly special when compared to what else is in the area. For Oregon, it was fairly brown and bleak, even in March. The trail was only minimally maintained with berry bushes growing over the path, several area washed out, and bad footing everywhere. If it had been out a little ways from town it wouldn't have seemed out of place, but being so close and the parks around the lake so developed, it was kind of annoying. The layout of the trail was also less then perfect, as it wandered out to the lake at points that were marshy, leaving the trail almost impassible. It may have been better on bikes, but for hiking it wasn't great.
