I went Hiking To Cumming Falls Waterfall Cookeville, TN yesterday. This is a 3.5 mile R/T hike through a steep grade forest down to the riverbed then navigating crossing the river back and forth. The waters were too high and cold last time I tried this so I never got to the falls. What an exciting hike this was.

I got to the falls at 7am before all of the college kids got there. I had the park to myself. I hiked the riverbed attempting to get to the base of the falls but the river was flooded and it was 37 degrees. I can absolutely see how this park gets so many visitors. When it warms up I will be back that way I will be able to wade in the deeper water. The falls are awesome and you can swim at the base in a huge swimming pool. I spent 3 hours on this cold Saturday March 8 2014... Also I do think this is good for families. Free of charge. There are bathrooms at the parking lot. This is out of the way. Tennessee Tech is the local college.
