This was a fun hike! A few spots are strenuous, but for the most part the trail is kid and dog friendly. The majority of the trail is on top of a mountain ridge, with several views overlooking Botetourt County and beyond. I recall crossing 3 small streams, but the Cove Mountain shelter does not have any water. In my opinion, the most spectacular view was near the very end overlooking Jennings creek, a few hundred feet below. I would definitely recommend this Hike!
