We hiked the one mile paved Box Canyon Trail with a stroller and two toddlers on October 13, 2013. It's an easy hike with a downgrade going in that makes the walking easy. Look out on the way out because that downslope is now a moderate upslope that can be tiring.
It had snowed two days earlier and the parking lot had several inches still on the ground. The trail, though, was clear and easy going. We saw only a few patches of snow during the walk.
The aspens were in full color and beautiful. Along a stream bank, we saw deer and big cat prints. Multiple sets of climbers were on the rocks and several other parties of hikers were seen in the distance.
