The park is set in pine forest and is located about 30-45 minutes outside of Denver area, and is part of Golden Gate Canyon State Park. The campground is divided into several separate loops, with hook-up and nonhook-up sites grouped separately.

We stopped here while passing through the area and really loved it. The setting was great, with pine trees and mountains surrounding the campground. The facilities were done well and clean. The tent pads were a little small, but well set out and sites were taken care of. Definitely a well developed park though, not at all primitive in any way.
