I hate rating this trail so low, but honestly, I studied this trail for a week, got there and had lots of difficulty finding the right paths to comeplete the south loop or even where the north loop connected. Partly due to extreme heat, but I was't impressed with what were able to see. We walked the logging/ATV roads for about 6 miles and actual trails for about 5 miles, give or take. The most interesting of all were the tall pine and that's about it. My wife and I have hit about 12 trails in less than 3 months and this was the most effort with the least return. It wasn't horrible, but, it was a let down. We ended up returning to the car the same way we went out, as 8 hours was more than we should have done on a dangerously hot day. We may try again in the fall, but I'm sure my wife will put up a fight.
